HVAC for ArchiCAD takes advantage of Graphisoft's Application Programming Interface, so you can access its features without having to leave the familiar ArchiCAD workspace. Objects behave as ordinary parametric 3D ArchiCAD library parts and can be edited and modified at will.

Create Ductwork Systems: Extend the Virtual Building environment!

You can use the duct routing add-on to create the outline and hatching of a duct in 2D and a solid duct body in 3D. The add-on will recognize any change in direction or level, and automatically size and place the bend of the respective duct section. Tees and shoes can be automatically sized and placed, and all connections are made automatically. Grilles can be connected with user-defined methods.

Automatic Ductwork Connections: Powerful productivity tools

When Duct elements need to be connected to form part of a larger 'system, ' HVAC for ArchiCAD can auto- matically connect the duct elements; simply select them and use the Auto-connect command. The auto-connect feature works with both simple two duct systems and more complex arrangements that may involve grilles, tees, flexible ductwork, etc. Using this feature makes it easy to rapidly develop extensive duct networks.

Automatic Wall/Floor Penetrations: Leverage the muscle of the ArchiCAD model!

Penetrations can be automatically created for all ductwork systems where ductwork passes through internal and external walls and slabs. Users can define the clearances required on each side of the ducts, and minimum distances between penetrations that determine when adjacent penetrations should be combined.Moreover, as the building model is developed, these penetrations can automatically be updated to take account of changes in the project.

Extensive Object Library: HVAC and Electrical objects

HVAC for ArchiCAD includes a GDL object library with more than 300 HVAC and electrical 3D objects and 2D symbols. These can be added to the ductwork model created using the API tool to develop detailed designs for building services applications. Each GDL object has an easy to use custom interface to make creating the model as flexible and productive as possible. Facility Management information is also available in each object allowing the model to imported into the ArchiFM database. HVAC for ArchiCAD is not a standalone application, it can only be run from within ArchiCAD. HVAC for ArchiCAD is available for both MacOS and Windows.
